Network Storage & Backup Range Overview

The Building Blox IT range of Network Attached Storage (NAS), Automated Backup & Disaster Recovery Solutions are based on a custom built hardware product (the “BLOX”). BLOX's are compact (H=10.5cm W=25.5cm D=20.5cm), with low power consumption (green), and can be wall mounted to maximise precious office space, making it akin to a switch or other infra-structure device. The software portion of the product features our own Debian based Linux distribution, a web based user administration application and desktop backup & restore software.

The current BLOX product range consists of:

    * fileBLOX - file server (Network Attached Storage - NAS)
    * backupBLOX - onsite backup server
    * drBLOX - offsite disaster recovery server

When the BLOX product range are used in combination as a "BLOX SET" (see the BLOX SET Configurations section), BLOX's provide a flexible, scalable, integrated Network Storage (NAS), Automated Backup and Disaster Recovery solution which can grow with your business.

All BLOX products are provided as a managed service, where support, maintenance, and failed component replacements are included in the monthly rental cost, with a minimum rental period of 24 months, and a maximum of 36 months. This approach effectively "outsources" this portion of your IT infra-structure, allowing SME businesses access to a professionally managed service without the prohibitive cost of a full time IT resource, plus 100% tax efficiency and a known fixed cost for financial planning. The only addition, would be any costs associated with Disaster Recovery incidents (see the Disaster Recovery section for details).
